Once again, another member of the Updenkelder family decides to jump on the "Blog-waggon". This blog was SUPPOSED to be more of a "photo-journalistic" approach to blogging, since I am very addicted to my Canon DSLR. However, it hasnt seen much use in recent months. Thanks for tuning in! :)

Take it back... WAY back...

Kudos to mom for being a GREAT mom and keeping all my old news paper articles. I was telling someone in my company about this bon fire that I organized in High School and he didn't believe me when I told him the size. Luckily, mom has a scanner and I got the proof!

This is me lighting the annual homecoming fire with a signal flare... I loved driving on the beach with my truck :)

Holy Hang-Over Batman

Well last night Nick closed a huge deal at work, so he took the roommates out for a night on the town. Here I sit at 7:30 in the morning, remembering why I vowed to never drink tequila again... On a more positive note, apparently I was quite the kareokee singer last night...

Go alcohol! At least I didn't drive :) I love living in NW Portland.

I'm Published!

So a while back I was approached by a female interested in having her pictures taken for submission to Playboy. If you want the WHOLE story, you can just ask me... It's a lot to type.

Anyways, I agreed to do the pictures and about 3 months passed without hearing anything about them. Three days ago I opened a letter from Playboy Enterprises and enclosed was a letter thanking me for my submission and enclosed was a check for $25 bucks! Apparently my photos were chosen for Playboy's online gallery, and as a token of their gratitude (and to prevent them from a law suit) they sent me a check. Apparently she won $100 bucks and I got $25, but to be honest... I doubt I will even cash the check. The $25 bucks isn't worth the check signed my Playboy in by opinion :)

RIP Fort Clatsop

Best known as the end of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, the Fort Clatsop structure in Astoria, Oregon was burned to the ground last night.

Investigators are still unsure of the nature of the fire.

One last time to enjoy the sun!

Last weekend (23rd - 25th) I spent the weekend at Camp Sherman with my parents. I took the day off of work on Friday so I could spend more time in the woods!

We had a GREAT time drinking beer and sitting around the camp fire. In the mornings, my dad and I drove around the wilderness looking for deer / elk, of course we saw a very limited amount from the comforts of the truck :)

This picture (above) is of the head of the Metolious River. The entire river is underground up to this point, and the river just seems to materialize from no where. Mount Jefferson can be seen in the background.

Highlight of the trip: We played scrabble after a few glasses of wine... it got to the point where Dad had his head-lamp on and my mother and I were forced to use the lantern.

Good times!
